B2 English - A. Y. 2021 - 22

The Polytechnic School, in collaboration with the Language Skills Development Department (CLAT), offers 60-hour self-study B2 English courses to its students. 

English B2 verification tests are provided for all self-study courses.

 

Polytechnic School B2 English test dates

  • July 8, 2022 (registration by 9:00 AM on June 28, 2022)
  • September 16, 2022 (registration by 9:00 AM on September 6, 2022)
  • October 28, 2022 (registration by 9:00 AM on October 18, 2022)
  • December 15, 2022 (registration by 9:00 AM on December 5, 2022)
  • February 10, 2023 (registration by 9:00 AM on January 31, 2023)

Registration for the test will take place through the Aul@web platform of the B2 english course in which students are enrolled. The categories of students / candidates and the details of the related courses for which they are intended are listed below.

The test will take place in-person at the Genova campus. The room number and test time will be announced after the registration closing date. 

Students that are pre-enrolled in UNIGE Master’s Degrees (Laurea Magistrale) can apply to take the test online due to documented needs caused by:
-    Residing abroad;
-    Pre-enrolled students that have never been UNIGE students before;
-    Frailty/disability situations that have been documented by the necessary agencies or reported, documented and filed with UNIGE. 
 

Any issues and/or requests should be emailed to didattica.politecnica@unige.it no later than 3 days before the test date.

 


Bachelor’s Degree students (laurea triennale)

60-hour self-study B2 English course, with the support of a tutor. 
The course will be available on the UNIGE Aul@web platform from February 2023, and will be accessible to students that have the course ‘LINGUA INGLESE B2’ (course code 108708) in their study plan. 
Upon completion of 70% of the course will students be able to register for the B2 test. Passing the test will count towards obtaining credits for your study plan. 

Students can also submit an English language certification of B2 level or higher. Certifications accepted by the University are listed on the  CLAT webpage. Certifications submitted will be screened according to these criteria, and accepted certifications will count as recognition of the B2 level. 

Please note: before enrolling in the B2 course, students are advised to take -and pass- the B1 English language level test. Taking the B2 without doing the B1 first is likely to be too difficult. Find out more here.

Non-UNIGE graduate enrolling Master’s Degrees (Laurea Magistrale)

60-hour self-study B2 English course. For access credentials to the online course please write to didattica.politecnica@unige.it.

UNIGE organizes B2 English tests that count toward confirmation of enrollment in UNIGE Master’s Degrees (Laurea Magistrale). Results will be published here.

Please note: no certificate will be issued upon passing the test. 

Students can also submit an English language certification of B2 level or higher. Certifications accepted by the University are listed on the  CLAT webpage. Certifications submitted will be screened according to these criteria, and accepted certifications will count as recognition of the B2 level.

Please note: students enrolling in UNIGE Master’s Degree programs (Laurea Magistrale) which include B2 English in their course curriculum do not need to take the B2 English test upon admission. The B2 test does not grant any credits, certificates, or exemptions from attending the English course.
Students are invited to carefully check the scheduled units for their Master’s Degree program (Laurea Magistrale) at  corsi.unige.it.

 

 


UNIGE students enrolling Master’s Degrees (Laurea Magistrale) 

Also outgoing international mobility programs for the Academic Year 2022-23

60-hour self-study B2 English course, with the support of a tutor. 

The Polytechnic School will enroll UNIGE students who have acquired 120 CFUs by April 30, 2022 in the B2 english course on Aul@web

 UNIGE organizes B2 English tests that count toward confirmation of enrollment in the School’s Master’s Degrees (Laurea Magistrale) and in UNIGE’s internal selection process for outgoing international mobility (outgoing Erasmus+ or Double Degree programs). Results will be published here.

Please note: no certificate will be issued upon passing the test.

UNIGE students enrolled in Master’s Degrees (Laurea Magistrale) including B2 English in their curriculum

60-hour self-study B2 English course, with the support of a tutor is available to students that have ‘LINGUA INGLESE B2’ (course code 98941 for LM Architecture, course code 98176 for LM Product and Event Design) in their study plan.

The course will be available starting from September/October 2022 on Aul@web.

Upon completion of 70% of the course students will be able to register for the B2 test. Passing the test student will obtain credits for their study plan. 

Students that have ‘LINGUA INGLESE B2’ with a different course code in their study plan should refer to what is indicated by their own Course of Study on the relevant websites at  corsi.unige.it.
